There are a number of methods to posting to Usenet. The most common, and in its most basic form, is via a news reader. You can access the groups in a threaded format via software like Outlook Express or via software specifically made to make your Usenet experience more pleasurable. We have a Usenet server in trial which will be available to users shortly. Subscribe to our mailing list to be advices when the free service goes live.
Google Groups are quite popular. Google have been archiving Usenet messages for years and were the first to offer a web based service to the NNTP service. Contrary to popular belief, Google does not own Usenet.
Another way of posting to Usenet is via a web based service like the one we offer here at Usenet.com.au. We prefer our web based service to others because it catalogues and archives all your writing, and won’t be deleted off our servers which means it contributes to your ongoing online identity. You won’t have to set up a newsreader and you can read and post to Usenet from absolutely anywhere you have access to the Internet.
If you choose to use a traditional Newsgroup Client like Outlook Express then you will soon be able to access Usenet newsgroups via our news server at news.usenet.com.au.
